A new Public Toilet was successfully completed for the City of Clarence in 2021, replacing an existing facility. It comprises a safe and equitable-use shelter with an Accessible WC, an Ambulant WC, an Accessible parking space and public seating. The coastal location influenced the design with references to boat sheds and marine forms. Dark colours and transparent screening help soften the overall form and allow easy visual surveillance and a sense of safety for its users. Low-maintenance, vandal-resistant and cost-effective materials have been used.
